The Travel in Two Method

WHAT IS THE TRAVEL IN TWO METHOD?

To reach a level of Intermediate Spanish i have tried many methods over the past 10 years from formal lessons, 121 lessons, DuoLingo, to face to face meetup groups, all of which have been valuable. Everyone however has a different style of learning and the thought of learning grammar in a classroom setting or walking into a pub for a meetup group on your own to speak to strangers in Spanish may give you equal amounts of fear

To improve your conversational skills there’s no way around it, you need to get the practice in. But for most people, like me, you are time poor and may not always be able to commit to weekly classes or regular meetups. Confidence may also play a factor in improving your speaking skills. All of the above applies to me. However much my speaking improved, it still gave me the fear to practice speaking Spanish. So to improve my confidence i formulated the Travel in Two method that suits all types of learners  (visual, auditory or kineasthetic) which i use successfully today to translate my blog posts into Spanish myself.

You can try this method yourself in 5 simple steps;

Why not start now with step 1 with one of these blog posts: Cartagena, Medellin, Mexico City

HOW WILL THIS METHOD IMPROVE MY SPANISH?

Speaking is all about thinking on your feet for a response and knowing the right words to do so, this is training the brain to do the same thing in the comfort of your own home.

Through using this method you will quickly see what gaps you have in your learning and can focus on those via more traditional learning methods (see my beginner and intermediate learning Spanish posts )

It will increase your vocabulary and sentence structuring in Spanish through learning by doing. You will be surprised at how many words you do actually know when you try and think of them which can really boost your confidence.
