About Travel in Two

Welcome to the Travel in Two Languages blog! Firstly, thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy the content and find it useful for planning your next trip and in practicing your language skills using the The Travel in Two Method!

THE TRAVEL IN TWO LANGUAGES METHOD

I love to travel and explore new places and cultures. There is one thing however that has made my travel experiences much richer, and that was the breakthrough moment of when I had my first conversation in Spanish whilst travelling in South America.

After spending years trying to learn Spanish in classroom settings, with course books and grammar homework, when it came to speaking Spanish, I still felt nervous and unsure of myself trying to put a sentence together. It wasn’t until I travelled to South America by myself and stayed with a host family who didn’t speak any English that I was finally forced to attempt to speak the language, and grasp at the words I knew, piecing together a sentence.

“TRAVEL in two is a free to use 5 step method to break through the plateau of speaking another language…”

Thinking and speaking in broken Spanish tested me on what I could remember, forcing me to discover new words and phrases. I checked what I could using books and google translate but ultimately in the moment I had to just give it a go, hope for the best and learn from my mistakes later. That’s what made me realise, you don’t have to live in a country to be immersed in a language and accelerate your learning. You just need to replicate the method of thinking in Spanish and trying to speak it, then checking back to learn from your attempt. In addition to practising what you know whenever you get the opportunity to consolidate your learning. Free to use and simple to understand, the Travel in Two method is a simple 5 step method of breaking through the plateau of intermediate language learning and finally getting you confident in speaking. Follow these 5 simple steps to try it out for yourself.

The method can be used across any language. I would love to hear in the comments if you have tried it out for yourself? Or why not reach out to me about writing a guest blog about your destination and try out the method for yourself for the language of that destination? Contact me or comment below.
